Spring League continues today after school in the large gym. Today is a girls game day! Congratulations to our junior badminton team on their win against Muir Lake last night! Congratulations to our senior badminton team for a great round of games vs SPA last night as well. The junior basketball skills group is reminded they have practice after school in the small gym with Mr. Killen. Soccer goalkeepers only please go to the large gym during second half of lunch recess with Mrs Stavreski ready to play. On Wednesday May,4, Thursday May 5,, and Saturday May 7, Woodhaven will be hosting the PCAA Jr. Badminton Championships. We are looking for concession volunteers to help with our parents association fundraising. If you are available to take a shift please let Mr. McLachlan, or yours truly, Mr. Shaw know when you are available to help out. The student-teacher hockey game is tomorrow afternoon….we are getting pretty excited, are you? The staff team is looking pretty strong….but also pretty old….but still very confident! I overheard Mr. Chan tell Mrs. Farris that he will be scoring a hat trick for sure! If you would be interested in participating in some mini-games during the intermission breaks at the game please talk to Mr. McLachlan. We will be selecting some students to represent their grade level in a few fun games for prizes!!! Now, we have not had a student teacher game in over three years. That means most of you, other than grade eight and nine students, have never attended this event. We are excited for you. With the ending of COVID restrictions, we can expect to have more events such as this, including the return of Den Days and year end trips. This is very important in promoting the ‘Pack Pride we hold very near and dear to our hearts. However, it has been such a long time that some of us may need to be reminded that this is a school event. The expectation is that you will have fun, for sure. But it is important that you remember to cheer, scream, stomp your feet, certainly boo your teachers, but also keep in mind that if we would like to hold future events, we need to follow the directions and rules that staff has set out for us. You will need to sit with your class, there will be no wandering around the rink or leaving the arena. Keep in mind that this is your behavior test drive for end of the year trips; if you cannot behave walking back and forth, if you cannot follow the directions at the Agrena, or if you decide to slip out without permission, how can your teachers trust you when we jump on a bus for the end of the year trip. I know I can rely on you to keep yourself and others in check: the strength of the pack is the wolf, the strength of the wolf is the pack. I am looking forward to seeing all of you on your best behavior tomorrow. Go ‘Pack Happy birthday to Ben in 5C Happy BIrthday to Maya in 5C |
