Wellness means being healthy in mind and body.

Woodhaven Wellness education provides resources to help implement daily physical activity, build healthy eating environments and promote positive mental health in the school environment. The curriculum is delivered during Health Days. Health Days run throughout the year and allow students to experience the Health Curriculum and specialists on those days.

In addition to Health Days, Woodhaven Wellness believes that student success depends on a blend of academic skills, good health, and physical and mental fitness. In order to achieve this, students are encouraged to:

  • Be physically active.
  • Learn to make healthy decisions and develop a healthy lifestyle.
  • Experience traditional and non-traditional health-related fitness activities. 

Woodhaven Wellness facilitates this by providing intramural programming, athletics, specific instruction in physical education classes, extracurricular clubs, special event days and the Student Wellness Action Team (SWAT).
