The following options courses are available to students in Grade 7 during Term 3 of the 2024-2025 school year. Read through the course descriptions, then use the Grade 7 Option Registration Form to choose the courses you'd like to register for.

IA (Huedepohl)

Students will build a birdhouse and other projects to be determined. Various skills will be learned to complete these projects.

Foods (Schaber/Eddy)

Students will learn the necessary techniques needed to be a junior cooking expert! This challenge will allow them to explore their inner foodie as they create delicious snacks and desserts. Students will be introduced to a wide variety of ingredients to enhance their palette.

Multimedia Communications (Nordstrom)

Students learn how to design and create a variety of multimedia projects. These range from forms like newspapers, to podcasts, to videography.

Drama (Manchak-Conroy)

Drama 7 is a dynamic and engaging course designed to immerse students in the multifaceted world of dramatic arts. Throughout the course, students will engage in various performance activities, including dramatic games, improvisation and scripted performances. In addition to exploring theatrical performance, students will also gain insights into the technical aspects of theater production and scriptwriting.

Taste for Travel (Davis)

In this option, you will explore countries around the world and discover the unique foods, famous sights and experiences that make them great travel destinations. So get your taste buds ready to sample unique foods from countries like Germany, Japan, Ukraine, Jamaica, India and Mexico. You will be your own travel agent and learn to plan and budget a dream trip of your choice.

Sports Officiating (Vanden Pol)

In this option, students will learn the rules of volleyball, tripleball, and basketball, as well as the basics of the sports, in order to create the foundation of skills required to officiate elementary or junior high games.

Outdoor Education (Bock)

In this option, students will explore selecting appropriate equipment and gear for various wilderness situations, as well as environmental stewardship.  They will learn how to properly build a fire, be introduced to navigation and learn about the challenges of survival in the outdoors.

Mentorship (Dhaliwal)

In this class, you will receive training in the skills of leadership, assisting others, making successful personal relationships with younger students and teaching reading and math/LA activities. You may be assigned to work with a younger student from our school to help with school work.

Robotics (Olson)

Students will learn how to code rover robots (ATV robots) by using their critical thinking skills to complete tasks and challenges with the robots.
