The following options courses are available to students in Grade 7 during Term 2 of the 2024-2025 school year. Read through the course descriptions, then use the Grade 7 Option Registration Form to choose the courses you'd like to register for.

Foods (Schaber/Eddy)

Students will learn the necessary techniques needed to be a junior cooking expert! This challenge will allow them to explore their inner foodies as they create delicious snacks and desserts. Students will be introduced to a wide variety of ingredients to enhance their palettes.

Industrial Arts (Huedepohl)

Students will build a birdhouse and other projects to be determined. Various skills will be learned to complete these projects.

Art and Design (Nordstrom)

Students will learn how to use a variety of artistic mediums, including technology, to display and represent their ideas. Through a variety of projects, students will have an opportunity to develop their artistic talents and open themselves up to different forms of art.

Technical Theatre (Manchak-Conroy)

In Technical Theatre students will learn about “behind the scenes” careers in Drama. Students will learn stage makeup and costuming techniques as well as prop and set design. They will also engage in sound and lighting design that help make a theatrical production come to life.

French (Davis)

Have some fun while learning the French language.   Daily games and activities will build new communication skills. Our class will participate again in Manie Musicale with students from all over the world so that we can learn French with the best new francophone music and videos that are being released. We will also celebrate several French holidays and explore regional culture and cuisine because everyone knows that food is a pretty big deal for the French!

Sports Officiating (Dhaliwal)

In this option, students will learn the rules of basketball, as well as the basics of the sport in order to create the foundation of skills required to officiate elementary or junior high games.

Film Study and Creation (Bock)

In film study, students will be introduced to various films that depict leaders in a variety of situations.  Students will also focus on how to create interest in film using various filming techniques. Come ready to learn and work hard as there will be an emphasis for students to create various multimedia projects.

Puppetry (VandenPol)

In this option, students will learn the basics of how to use puppets and try out those skills in order to play games, work on skits, and create puppet themed music videos.

Robotics (Olson)

Students will learn how to code rover robots (ATV robots) by using their critical thinking skills to complete tasks and challenges with the robots.
