The following options courses are available to students in Grade 7 during Term 3 of the 2024-2025 school year. Read through the course descriptions, then use the Grade 7 Option Registration Form to choose the courses you'd like to register for.
Foods (Schaber/Eddy)
Students will learn the necessary techniques needed to be a junior cooking expert! This challenge will allow them to explore their inner foodie as they create delicious snacks and desserts. Students will be introduced to a wide variety of ingredients to enhance their palette.

Industrial Arts (Huedepohl)
Students will complete various woodworking, metalworking and possibly electronic projects. Various skills will be learned to complete these projects.

Art and Design (Nordstrom)
Students will learn how to use a variety of artistic mediums, including technology, to display and represent their ideas. Through a variety of projects, students will have an opportunity to develop their artistic talents and open themselves up to different forms of art.

Drama (Manchak-Conroy)
Drama course offers an immersive, hands-on exploration of theater production, focusing on the creation of a one-act play. Students will work collaboratively through the entire process of producing a one-act— character development to set design, rehearsals, and final performance. Emphasizing creativity, teamwork, and communication, this course provides an opportunity for students to gain practical theater skills while experiencing the magic of live performance.

Hockey Performance (Bock)
In hockey performance, students will be introduced to skills, rules and strategy in the game of hockey. Both on ice and off ice opportunities will be presented so some equipment will be required for on ice. Students will also be introduced to dryland training. Finally, opportunities to lead will be given to set up and create a league.

Personal Fitness (Dhaliwal)
In Personal Fitness 7, students will have the opportunity to learn about and engage in a variety of physical activities, including spinning, running, yoga, plyometric exercises, and strength training. Additionally, students will plan and lead fitness activities. This class offers students the chance to explore different fitness methods and understand how exercise positively impacts the body.

Robotics (Olson)
In this option, students will learn how to code RVR+ Robots (ATV Robots) by using their critical thinking skills to complete tasks and challenges with the robots.

Strategy (VandenPol)
Students will learn strategies for a variety of card games, board games, virtual escape rooms, and STEM challenges before attempting to design their own review games for their end of year finals.

Taste for Travel (Davis)
In this option, you will explore a variety of countries around the world and discover the unique foods, tourist sights and experiences that make them great travel destinations. You will be your own travel agent and learn important skills of planning, budgeting and advertising an itinerary that explores the food tourism industry of your chosen travel destination.
