Vancouver Sun Run for Grades 7 - 9
It’s back! Parkland School Division will be taking students from many of its Grade 7-9 classes on a trip to Vancouver to run the world-famous 10 km Sun Run and spend the weekend in Vancouver.
When? April 14 - 17, 2023. The run itself is on Sunday, April 16
Why? It is awesome to set a personal goal, train, and try to run it in your goal time AND it’s pretty cool to participate in a run with 40,000 to 50,000 other runners, music, cheering, etc. ALSO, you get to miss two days of school (if you like missing school…)
What else? Three nights, four days away. Activities in Vancouver like the aquarium, bike riding in Stanley Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge, and/or hanging out on Granville Island, plus some meals out in Vancouver, making new friends, experiencing an interesting city, exercising your independence.
How much? About $550 for transportation, hotel, race registration, shirt(s), and some meals. $200 deposit needed to confirm your booking, with the remainder paid by the end of February.
What should you do? If you are in Grade 7 - 9, would like to participate, and think your parents might just maybe be willing to help you pay for it:
