Yesterday morning in your PSD email inbox you received the Woodhaven safe care and respect survey. If you remember from last year, after carefully considering your input we posted your responses in windows of what is now the new office. The survey asks your opinion of how the school is addressing your needs as they relate to these important elements. While you are welcome to complete the survey on your own, your teachers will be giving you class time to complete the survey. I ask that you consider your answers carefully, and be open and honest, both with the things we are doing well and with the things we need to work on. Please know, we consider your views an important part of us making our school better for everyone, including yourself. Your teachers and EAs will be completing a similar survey as well. Last night was a tough night for our Woodhaven Senior teams. Both our senior boys and senior girls lost their playoff game. Our senior girls lost to a good Greystone team. Our senior boys lost in a heartbreaker 5th set to SPA. Both Mr. Chan and Mr. McLachlan are very proud of the progress from all of our senior players this season! Reminder to all Woodhaven Jr A and Senior volleyball players to return their volleyball uniform to your coach! Fall Ball is back! Yes that is right….Our own Fall Volleyball League for Woodhaven students. This year we are offering Fall Ball to any interested grade 5, 6, and 7 students. A registration link is going to be sent out to our grade 5,6,7 parents very shortly. If you are interested in playing please have your parents complete the registration on the link that is going to be emailed out. Athletes of the Month - We are proud to announce our Athlete of the Month recognition program is back this year. To start the year off here are our September and October athletes of the month. These students need to see Mr. McLachlan in the gym during morning break… September - Tyson S, Luke B, Anna R, Isabelle R October - Jude M, Liam L, Taryn B, Anna G-W Indoor Shoes! As the cold weather is getting closer we would like to remind all students they should have a clean indoor pair of shoes...especially for PE class! We have noticed more and more dirt on the gym floors and we all must do our part to help keep it clean! A reminder that tomorrow is our in-school halloween day. Your teachers, EAs, secretaries, a librarian or two and maybe even Mr. Stapley have been eagerly getting their costumes ready for tomorrow. Please talk with your teacher today about the ground rules for the day. However mean Mr. Shaw needs to remind you that offensive or inappropropriate costumes are not permitted, costumes with masks are not permitted in the hallways, nor are fake weapons. If you do bring a treat or two for yourself, please remember to pick up your wrappers, and remember, no sharing. |
