Treaty Six Land Acknowledgement

As we wind down construction, please note that for the next three days our construction partners will be landscaping the north west corner of the back field along the alley.   It is very important that we give workers their space.  Just a reminder that this space has been off limits for the past two-and a-half years.  Soon we will have a second space in the back field to play.  But for the next few days, please stick close to the track field.

Another reminder that starting next week we will alter our morning, recess and lunch entry procedures.   On Monday, grade fives and sixes will now enter through the modular doors by the baseball diamond.   Please note the classroom assembly locations on the chain link fence.

For the grade sevens, eight and nines, you will be assembling on the cement pad in front of the school.  Again, please note the signs.

Congratulations to our senior volleyball teams for the great games last night. Unfortunately both the girls and boys lost some close matches. A big shout out goes to Damon G in grade 9 for his amazing efforts to help set up, scorekeep, and clean up after the games!

The senior boys are reminded they have practice today after school 3:15-4:30pm in the small gym!

Good luck to our Junior B volleyball teams as they play their first games of the year tonight as they host Greystone. If anyone is interested in helping scorekeep the games, please talk to Mr. McLachlan as he is looking for a few more helpers!

Junior A girls are playing Broxton Park after school today. Please head straight to Broxton immediately after the final bell.

Junior A boys are playing at St. John Paul II school today after school!

Terry Fox Run - Our school Terry Fox run is Friday! All students have worked hard in their PE classes to prepare for this big day. Please remember to bring in a “Toonie for Terry” on Friday, or make an online donation to this amazing event!

Today the Woodhaven school community will be sharing and wearing our support for indigenous peoples across Canada as we recognize orange shirt day.  Please show your support by wearing orange!.

Tomorrow is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.   Today we would ask that you take a second to consider:  One in ten people have a negative outlook on indigenous people in their community

Today is another step we take together to change this outlook, as we wear orange to support our indigenous friends, neighbors, and families.
